LOCATION<\/strong>
\nKashubia, located in the western part of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the drainage area of the \u0141eba and Radunia Rivers, are the stronghold of traditional religiousness of one of the indigenous groups of Pomerania inhabitants. Wejherowo with a baroque Calvary and Sianowo with St Mary\u2019s Sanctuary are the spiritual capitals of the region. L\u0119bork is an important Franciscan centre and a place where the worship of St James was reborn. Upon the initiative of L\u0119bork, the more than 1000 kilometre Pomeranian St James\u2019 Route, one of the European Camino de Santiago routes, has been restored. L\u0119bork (Kash. Laborg, Germ. Lauenburg), 54\u00b032\u203221\u2033N 17\u00b044\u203250\u2033E, is the town selected in the region.<\/p>\n

SIGHTSEEING<\/strong>
\nAll the selected towns and villages are situated within 50 km from L\u0119bork. Car is the optimum means of transport, although there are also convenient railway connections between L\u0119bork and Wejherowo. A clearly marked walking trail \u2013 St James\u2019 Route connects Sianowo and L\u0119bork, and Smo\u0142dzino farther on (through \u0141eba), yet these are a few whole-day stages. The intention to visit the interiors of the Calvary in Wejherowo, Sanctuary in Sianowo and Church in Smo\u0142dzino is to be notified to the church administrators. Rowok\u00f3\u0142 offers an observation tower available from May until September from 9 am to 6 pm, only in good weather.<\/p>\n

ATTRACTIONS<\/strong>
\nL\u0119bork<\/strong> is a town founded by the Teutonic Knights on the central part of the \u0141eba River. In the historical centre there is Gothic St James\u2019 Church furnished in baroque style. It constitutes the central section of St James\u2019 Route in Pomerania. The town boasts the comprehensively restored town fortifications. Wejherowo<\/strong>, located 30 km farther, was founded in 1643, creating the still imposing baroque Calvary, and establishing the Franciscan monastery. At present, Franciscan St Anne\u2019s Church houses the Sanctuary of Our Lady Health of the Sick. The miraculous image of Mary crowned as the Queen of Kashubia in 1966, attracts pilgrims to Sianowo<\/strong>. Main parish fairs are held here in July and September. Nowa Huta<\/strong> village boasts the huge Devil\u2019s Stone, the biggest and legendary erratic boulder in Kashubia. Rowok\u00f3\u0142, one of the historical holy mounts of Pomerania is located near Smo\u0142dzino<\/strong> situated at the edge of the Slovincian National Park. The embankment walls of the former fortress have been preserved and an observation tower is situated there today. In the village there is also the Renaissance Church of the Holy Trinity founded by the Griffins. It is here that Hans Br\u00fcggemann, a pastor prepared for printing the Kashubian translation of songs by Martin Luther, one of the oldest literary monuments of Kashubia.<\/p>\n
