Kretinga and Plung\u0117 towns are connected by highway A11 and have good railway and bus connection <\/span>with other cities in Lithuania.<\/span><\/p>\n

SCENIC CHARACTER <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Kretinga is one of the oldest settlements in Lithuania, also called the Franciscan capital due to 5 established monasteries here. Kretinga district is famous not only for the abundance and diversity of cultural heritage objects, but also for its <\/span>unique countryside – manors, mythological places, bridges, mills, monuments, and unique homesteads. The old territory of Kretinga town (31.3 ha) is a monument of archeology and urbanism because the city\u2019s central part is constructed in a rectangular plan. There are many rivers, lakes, ponds in the area, very suitable for active recreation \u2013 kayaking and fishing. <\/span><\/p>\n

Plung\u0117 town is another picturesque town to stop for its famous landmark – Plung\u0117 <\/span>estate and park ensemble which houses the Samogitian Art Museum, manor buildings, the neo-gothic stables, the horse stables, and the exposition of the ancient folk art. Admire the legendary and natural monument, the \u201cThunder oak\u201d, growing in the central part of the park. The region is also full of rivers, lakes, ponds and holds the Samogitian national park. <\/span><\/p>\n

Visit Kretinga museum with Winter Garden, holding <\/span>nearly<\/span> 600 different plants from the entire world, stay for lovely break inside the gardens at the restaurant \u201ePas Graf\u0105\u201d, and walk around in the park which is full of round the ponds, Stone of Love and Astronomic Calendar with the Sundial. <\/span><\/p>\n

A canoe trip in Kretinga district also offers many trails of covering scenic landscapes and breathtaking views. <\/span><\/p>\n

Visit Manor state and park ensemble in Plung\u0117 and Samogitian national park where you may stay in Plateliai for water sports, scuba-diving activities.<\/span><\/p>\n
