LOCATION

Usedom is a coastal island in the Baltic Sea on the border of Poland (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) and Germany. From the Polish side to the island of Usedom, the best way to reach is visit first Świnoujście. The only communication with the part of Świnoujście located on the island of Usedom are ferries. The crossing is well marked, and ferries depart every few minutes. 53°56′N 14°05′E

ATTRACTIONS 

The island of Usedom belongs to the most beautiful and sunny islands in the Baltic Sea. The first mention of the island, as well as the oldest settlement of Uznam located on it, comes from the medieval accounts of Bishop Otto von Bamberg. Nowadays, on the Island there are many holiday resorts offering guests deep relaxation on the soft sand of the beach and also biological regeneration. Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin spas enable quick recovery, for people struggling with diseases of the respiratory, circulatory and motor systems. Not only the hotels and pensions of the Baltic baths provide their guests with a great rest. Also, many smaller private owners often offer year-round rest in comfortable, idyllic lodges and apartments.In the German part of the island lies the Uznam Island Landscape Park. Tourist attractions are raised by piers and lookout towers. There are excellent conditions and infrastructure for cycling. The island is best explored on foot or by bicycle. There is a well-developed network of bikes for rent around Uznam.
