LOCATION

Czcibor Mountain located on the route no. 124, running along the Oder, 4 km after Cedynia and less than a kilometer in front of Osinów Dolny. It lies within the administrative borders of the Cedynia commune, in the Gryfino poviat. 52° 51′ 18”, 14° 9′ 26”

ATTRACTIONS 

Czcibor Mountain is one of the moraine hills in the belt of Krzymów Hills. Reaches a height of 54.5 m above sea level. At its top is the largest eagle monument in Poland. There is a plaque on it with an inscription in Polish and Russian: „In the 1000th anniversary of the victorious battle of Cedynia fought in defense of Polish territories on the Odra and Baltic Sea by Mieszko I and his brother Czcibor with the army of Margrave Hodon, this monument was built. 1972 ” To get a closer look at this 15-meter monument, you have to cross 270 stone stairs. Being upstairs, it is impossible not to admire the beautiful view of the Oder and Germany valleys. At the foot of Mount Czcibor, apart from the car park, there is a mosaic depicting the scene from the battle of Cedynia. There is also a fragment of a medieval settlement nearby. It is worth to appear here around June 24. Every year, the staging of the Battle of Cedynia is organized. The knightly brotherhoods show the winning of Mieszko I troops. In addition, the life of medieval craftsmen, blacksmith, peasant, herbalist, potter, falconer, weaver, or cuckold is presented. Once a year, the mountain of Czcibor moves in time more than a thousand years ago and it is worth to be there.
