LOCATION
Stępnica is a little town in Goleniów County located at the Szczecin Lagoon near Goleniów Forest, Olszanka Nature Reserve, close to Wkrzańska Forest on on the other bank of the Oder River, GPS 53°65′N 14°63′E.
SCENIC CHARACTER
Stepnica is located in the northern part of the Lower Oder Valley near the border with the Goleniów Plain. The city and port are located on the Gulf of Stepnica. Sea port in Stępnica, with a high local importance, performs a fishing and sailing function, as well as trading and reloading. There is Olszanka Nature Reserve (forest and peat reserve) in the south, with an area of 1345.40 ha.
ATTRACTIONS
The town has a seaport and a sea bath. Tourists can go boating or surt in the lagoon. A green cycling route runs through Stepnica – an international bicycle route around the Szczecin Lagoon. Great adventure to experiment is eagles watching from the sea. Close rendezvous with white-tailed eagle is highly possible. Travellers can go kayaking and do some boat trips around Szczecin Bay. Stępnica is famous for fishing. Stępnickie fishing catches event takes place in July – it is a fishing competition and a fest of fishermen and fisheries.
