DESCRIPTION

Stutthof is a former Nazi German concentration camp. It was the longest-functioning this type of camp in the territory of present Poland (from September 2, 1939 to May 9, 1945). It is estimated that about 110,000 prisoners from 28 countries were kept there. About 65,000 people died as a result of hunger, diseases, extreme living conditions, hard work and killing. The camp was built on marshy, swampy terrain. There is a museum in the area of the former camp. Exhibitions in the museum are enriched with documentary films (20-30 min in duration).
