LOCATION

The Sienny Market Square in Szczecin is the former main square of the Old Town, reaching the pedigree of the Middle Ages. Its interesting name derives from the fact that once on this square hay was traded.

ATTRACTIONS

The market was built in the Middle Ages. At that time, a wooden town hall was built at its center, which was later replaced with a brick building in the Gothic style. In the 17th century, the town hall was rebuilt in the Baroque style, and tenements, also in Baroque style, richly decorated, began to be built around the square. During World War II this area was badly damaged, ruined buildings were in danger of collapsing. After the war, it was decided to put grass on the place of tenement houses, rebuild the town hall.

It is also worth mentioning Szczecin’s boulevards here. It is a unique attraction for residents, tourists and sailors. There is no better place to start a tour around the city. It is there that you can moor your boat and take a walk around Szczecin, and by the way look at the interesting exhibits located in Aleja Żeglarzy. A smell of chocolate from a nearby chocolate factory often rises. Above the river there is often nice smell of chocolate from a nearby chocolate factory.
