Elbląg Canal
ATTRACTION DESCRIPTION
Elbląg Canal is a kind of technical monument built in the 19thcentury and is called one of the Seven Wonders of Poland. The canal is over 84 kilometres long and the level difference is about 100 metres. Masurian economic development in the 19thcentury required finding a connection of these areas with the Baltic Sea. It is a unique route, where ships are carried on carriages on a certain section of the route. The route Ostróda-Elbląg can be overcome by passenger ship. If you would like to travel more intimate, you can rent a yacht. There are plenty of places where you can sleep around the route (not only hotels, but also many nice guest houses).
