LOCATION

Gavnø is an island in Næstved Municipality, in Zealand Region. It is located at the south- west coast of Zealand. The island is connected with the Zealand with a bridge. 55°11′19″N 11°43′28″E

ATRACTION DESCRIPTION

The first castle on Gavnø island was built in XII century by pirates. Than in 1737 the new castle was founded by Count Otto Thott. Nowadays Gavnø is the three-winged, Rococo style yellow castle, surrounded by magnificent garden. The beauty of the castle park is the reason why Gavnø is called the Island of Flowers.
