ATRACTION DESCRIPTION

The Møn island is well known of its historical churches. The oldest one of them is located in Elmelunde town, and often called simply Elmelunde Kirke or Elmelunde Church. It is a piece of romanesque architecture, but most likely it was built on ruins of much older wooden temple. The art inside the church is gothic style. The most famous are the frescos painted by so called Elmelunde Master. The same person created frescos in Fanefjord and Keldby churches.
