SCENIC CHARACTER

One of the most trendy surf waves spot on Island Rügen is Neu Murkan, we propose to start the cycling adventure there. The route will lead alongside the coastline to the south, reaching Resort Binz, Resort Sellin and then south to Thiessow. It will be relatively flat, going throught green areas, including forests. The length of the route is around 35 kms. The route allows to very easy accessibility to beaches, bathing, numerous restaurants and cafes. The bike ride is intermediate level or easy, the most of surface is paved, the starting point is accessible by public transport. The route allows for several stops and sightseeing of interesting historical places and sea bathing and beach relax. The ride ends in Thiessow village – one of the southern Rügen wind surfing spots.

ATTRACTIONS

The whole area of Rügen is a beautiful nature area with diversified coasts, from yellow beaches to white chalk cliffs. There are many lagoons, shallow waters, white and yellow sand beaches. The most of the island is forested, very green. There is the Jasmund National Park organized on the island. It allows for nature sightseeing, biking, walking etc. There are a couple of interesting museums (like Ocean Aquarium) places of curiosity (Binz vacation house – the longest in Germany). Plenty good places for feeding. Accessible accommodation places, especially before and after summer (July- August).
