Ivö is the biggest island in Lake Ivösjön, located in the northeastern part of SkåneCounty, in the municipalities of Kristianstad and Bromölla56°11′N 14°38′E

SCENIC CHARACTER
Ivö is a very interesting place especially of geological interest. There are relict landforms and fossils of the late Cretaceous Epoch in location called Ivö Klack that contain sedimentary rocks of gneiss and kaolinite. Visitors can have an exciting time by admiring varieties of Ivö’s nature like apple-orchards and fields with different crops. The caws graze on grazing land among different interesting plants. There is a beach, camping pitches and other attractions for visitors.
ATTRACTIONS
Ivö ferry is undoubted attraction of the island. Ferry is called Ivöledenand is the only connection with the rest of Sweden. Cable driven car ferry is free and operates a regular scheduled service from Barrum (small village on the mainland) to the Ivöisland. The distance between ferry harbor in the island and Barrum is approximately 720 meters long. There is an old, 13thcentury church in the island, very popular for weddings. The other attractions of the island are: fishing, nature exploring, geology discovering (still sharks’ teeth and fossils of giant lizards can be found).
