LOCATION

Bear Park Müritz is a bear preservation centre near Stuer at the southern tip of Lake Plauer in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. GPS 53°39′N 12°33′E.

ATRACTION DESCRIPTION

The park is also known as bear sanctuary. It was opened In 2006. There are over a dozen of brown bears offered a safe, friendly, natural home often for those that are neglected or mistreated. They are kept at the area of 16 hectares. Bears can live there as nature intended, in  a varied landscape with mixed woodland, grasslands, forest glades, hillsides and a natural water course.Tourists can get to know the bears by attending  hiking trails with several stations in the forest. There is also a recreation area with 10 meters high wooden tipi. Forests of Müritz belong to the Ancient Beech Forests of Germany.
