ATTRACTIONS

The castle was reared up in 1507 by the prince of Słupsk – Boguslaw X. A two-story Gothic style building is located on the former mill courtyard. Later, it was rebuilt into a Renaissance style, a third floor was added, the walls were enriched with bays and avant-corps, and the interior was brightened up by large windows. In the past, the castle was the residence of Pomeranian dukes from the Griffin dynasty. Then it served as a warehouse for grain and weapons and a prison, what contributed to its devastation. In 1965, the castle regained its glory and became the residence of the Museum of Central Pomerania. Among the collection of the Museum there are inwroughtsarcophagi, prince array and jewellery. While visiting the museum you can’t forget about the world’s largest collection of Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz’s works.
