ATTRACTIONS

Słupsk old town is full of charm, history and unique tenement houses. The central square of the old town is called Stary Rynek. The square existed already in the 13th century, and in 1310, in its central part, a town hall was erected, which lasted until the end of the 17th century. Another one was built in its place. The present-day old town underwent transformations in the 18th century, when old ruined medieval buildings were replaced with compact buildings of 2-3 storey tenement houses with a diverse pattern of peaks and decorative facades. The eighteenth-century building of the old town was ruined during the war in 1945. Only in the western part of the market are the three neighboring tenement houses rebuilt and restored, giving an idea of the former buildings of the old town. Two of them come from the eighteenth to the nineteenth century. The old town is full of restaurants, pubs and souvenir shops.
