LOCATION

Eriksberg Vilt & Natur is a wildlife park located Island is located inEriksberg in Blekinge Region of Sweden, near bigger city of Karlshamn.  The place is easily accessible by road connections from southern Sweden. The Park is located near the Ronneby Airport. The ferry connections to southern Sweden include those from Germany, like the ferry line Sassnitz – Trelleborg, from Poland through ferry line Gdynia-Karlskrona and from Lithuania through ferry line Klaipeda- Karlshamn. To Copenhagen is around 2hrs drive. The park geographical location is:  56°18′N 15°00′E.

ERIKSBERG WILDLIFE OBSERVATION

Eriksberg Wildlife Park & Nature Reserve is the largest Swedish park of wildlife that enables to watch Scandinavian animals in their natural environment. The park includes more than 1300 ha area out of which  more than 400 ha are water areas. The displayed area is 925 ha, and Eriksberg is the biggest safari park in the Nordic countries. The park hosts deer, fallow deer, Père David’s deer, wild boars, European bison and moufflon. Summertime attracts more than 1500 animals. Eriksberg was purchased in 1938 by the well known nature film maker and writer Bengt Berg and changed into natural reserve.  The animal inhabitants of the park are the result of experiments with deer breeding on the farm. The present farm possesses buildings from five centuries. Two main Eriksberg Park activities include : guided tour on park safari vehicle and European Bison walks.

ATTRACTIONS

The county of Blekinge is one of the smallest regions of Sweden. It is only 3000 sq. kms.  Significant part of the county is Blekinge archipelago. It consists of more than 800 islands. The area is not quiet, looking very natural and possesses numerous beach shovels and natural harbors. It is a very good place for fishing. The county has over 1000 lakes, 12 paved streams and consist of mostly wilderness (woods). The region organized numerous hiking trailsbiking routes and opportunities to canoe or boat on calm waters. Big cities of the Region: Karlshamn and Karlskrona ofeer cultural attractions including museums, culture places and events (e.g. rock festival). The region  nature specifics prevails.
