LOCATION

Gdańsk is over thousand years old city in north Poland 54°20′51″N 18°38′43″E. Historically it was one of the most important trade centers in the region, and one of the members of  Hanseatic League. Nowadays along with Sopot and Gdynia it constitutes a well known conurbation called Tricity. It’s well communicated. It has the airport called after one of the most famous citizens Lech Walesa. It’s possible to get there by bus, or by sea. However most comfortable would be to travel by train. Gdańsk is one of few cities in Poland connected with Pendolino trains.

Gdańsk has a rich history, therefore many faces. It was a multicultural free city. It was a place where Solidarity movement started. It is part of the biggest metropolitan area in Poland those days. It’s also a place where a tourist can have a good time on a beach, and take a sunbath.

ATTRACTIONS

Probably the biggest attraction of Gdańsk is the Old Town. No matter the fact that most building were rebuilt after the II World War, it gives a glimpse of a magnificent history. Another historical place is famous Gdańsk Shipyard. The place where the end of communism has started.
