LOCATION
Nylars Kirke (Nylars Round Church) is located in Nylars village, Bornholm municipality, Capital region, on the south-west side of Bornholm island near Rønne city. Denmark is well known of its bicycle paths, so is Bornholm. In order to reach Nylars choose the path from Rønne to Nexø. If you prefer to take a bus, choose line 6 in Nexø. 55.1714°N 14.9617°E

ATRACTION DESCRIPTION
There are four famous romanesque style round churches in Bornholm: Nylars Kirke, Ols Kirke, Ny Kirke, Østerlars Kirke. Nylars Round Church is in best shape. It was erected in XII century. It served two purposes: religious and defensive. Like most medieval sacral buildings located in small settlements it was an enclave where all the villagers gathered in case of attack. While visiting Nylars Kirke note the frescos which are the oldest on Bornholm. The paintings present scenes from the book of genesis mostly connected with Adam and Eve.
