Town Hall square – 17th-20th century urbanistic value. It’s embellished by an Independence monument in 1930.

ATTRACTIONS 

There is a monument built in memorial of the Kretinga city, church and monastery founder, The Great etemon of Lithuania and voivode of Vilnius Jonas Karolis Chodkevičius (1560-1621) in a nearby located square. The original granite monument reminds a massive ark with opened massive metal-covered door that has a full-size standing J. K. Chodkevičius figure carved on it. The door symbolises the boundary between the past and the present. The monument was unveiled on 12th June, 2009, celebrating 400th anniversary of Kretinga city municipality.
