LOCATION

The city of southeastern Sweden, in the province of Blekinge, Karlshamn is located on the shores of the Baltic Sea and on the Mieon River. Karlshamn has national road 29 which connects the port to the province Småland in the north. There are trains every hour to the towns of the region and has a regular ferry service with Kiel in Germany, Klaipėda in Lithuania and St. Petersburg in Russia.

SCENIC CHARACTER

Karlshamn (A) is a cosy and tranquil town with beautiful surroundings, harbor area with romantic walking promenade on the coastline. Karlshamn received its name in 1666, meaning Karl’s Port in honor of the Swedish king. Therefore, no wonder why Karlshamn is rich in offering interesting activities for everyone, whether you travel with children – Science Center Kreativum (B), the best stop for many discoveries and extraordinary experience, or you are a wild adventure fan who would be greatly fascinated by getting foot to Eriksberg (C), the Scandinavia’s largest wildlife park and nature reserve. For a very romantic and relaxing time you may choose enjoy a boat trip to Tjärö (D), an idyllic island in the archipelago of Hällaryd which is located about 15 kilometers east of Karlshamn. The city is also a cultural spot for summer events such as Baltic Sea Festival, uniting all people from Blekinge region and others visitors from abroad.

ATTRACTIONS

Visit the beautiful coastline of Karlshamn, stroll through the small streets, and admire the fisher’s houses. Then you may choose to spent time in Science Centre Kreativum or go on safari tour of 10 km in Eriksberg rocky landscape and see wild animals in their natural environment such as red deer, fallow deer, European bison, wild boar and mouflons. Afternoon can be spent by taking regular boat to Tjärö island, and explore it within few hours while walking through idyllic nature in great beaches, rocky cliffs or small sandy coves.
