The Amber Collection in the Castle Museum in Malbork is located in the Castle of the Teutonic Order. Malbork is a town in the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland. It is communicated with main Polish cities by roads and railways. 54°02′N 19°01′E.

ATTRACTION DESCRIPTION

Malbork is a very old town situated in Poland. Malbork was founded in the 13thcentury by the famous from elsewhere Teutonic Order. Once the Teutonic Order had a monopoly on amber mining and trade. Collecting of amber began in 1961 – after the creation of the Malbork Castle Museum (in the former Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork). The collection of antique amber objects is something very special, something worth seeing. All the time not only antique, but also modern exhibits are acquired. The collection includes over 700 items of amber of various sizes, colours and degree of transparency. The collection will appeal to young and old people.
