LOCATION
The park is located in northern west Lithuania, Northern West Samogitian Plateau, territories of Kretinga, Skuodas and Plungė regions’ municipalities. It takes 13 265 ha.

ATTRACTIONS
The Salantai Regional Park was founded to protect the old valley landscape of the Erla, Salantas and Minija Rivers, as well as other natural and cultural heritage values.
Forests takes 25,1%, water – almost 1,3%, settlements – 6,5% of regional park area.
The steep-sloped, flat-bottomed fluvioglacial old valley landscape of the Erla, Salantas and Minija Rivers, the distinctive Šaukliai, Kulaliai, Igariai and Erlėnai boulder fields, the drumlins in the north-eastern part of the park, the great loops in the mid section of the Minija River, the meandering lower reaches of the Salantas River and its erosional valley in the midsection.
Cultural heritage values including castle mounds, the urban structure of Salantai town, Šilalė archaeological complex, and others;
The stability of the natural ecosystem, its biotic components, characteristic flora and fauna and natural fish migration routes and spawning grounds.
