LOCATION

Szczecin is situated by the Oder mouth and Szczecin Lagoon, near the Baltic Sea and German border. It is the biggest city and also a capital of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland. Szczecin borders on the southwestern shore on Dąbie Lake, GPS 53°43′N 14°55′E.

              

 

SCENIC CHARACTER

Szczecin is a city of 400.000 inhabitants and with an abundance of green areas: parks, avenues and roundabouts. A harbor in Szczecin plays an important role in transportation and fishery. The Port of Szczecin is the third largest port in Poland. The city is partly situated in Szczecin Landscape Park in the forest of Puszcza Bukowa. Szczecin Lagoon is shard by Germany and Poland and coves an area of 687 km². Due to its location in Oder estuary, there are many channels abounding in freshwater and sea fish.

ATTRACTIONS

Szczecin is worth sightseeing. There are  gothic and renaissance buildings. A huge part of history is hidden in Szczecin. The gothic monuments preserved are parts of European Route of Brick Gothic. There are shopping malls (ex. Centrum, Kaskada) Gdańsk, museums, theatres and cinemas. There is also a market called Szczeciński Bazar Smakoszy, full of tasty food, regional cuisine, chill zone with positive music, healthy, ecological food, wine, beer, books, cosmetics and other goods. Travellers can rest there, try marine cuisine, drink good beverages and relax with great atmosphere. Szczecin Lagoon offers  some notable beaches, cruises and  a wide range of water sports. Anglers can find great places for fishing.
