ATTRACTIONS

A city with more than 700 years of tradition can boast not only a medieval pedigree but also an honorable royal city. This is due to the fact that it was precisely in Darłowo in 1382 that Erik I Pomorski was born – the King of Denmark, Sweden and Norway united by the Kalmar Union. The first mentions about Darłowo appear already in the 11th century, when there was a fishing village on the site of the present town of Darłowo, whose inhabitants were engaged in typical seaside activities – fishing, yachting and weaving. In Darłowo preserved a medieval street layout with pre-war buildings on the square. The biggest tourist attraction of Darłowo is the Pomeranian Dukes‘ Castle from the second half of the 14th century. There are also historic medieval churches in the city: St. Mary’s Church, St. George and the Church of St. Gertrude. The Darłówek port (part of Darłowo Resort) is also very popular, including the 3-kilometer stretch of the Wieprza wharf and is an active reloading, fishing and tourist port. Cruise ships also depart from the port. Darłowo is not only magnificent monuments, but also a healing microclimate, 20 km wide beaches and clean natural environment.
