ATTRACTIONS
Lithuanians used to pick amber on the shore from ancient times. Nowadays, the amber pickers can pick up to several hundred grams of small amber pieces when the weather and sea are favourable. Less often, bigger pieces of several hundred grams are picked.
The best time to look for amber is after a storm, when the worse weather has subsided but the sea is still disturbed and the waves are about one metre high. This is because amber deposits lay at the bottom of the Baltic Sea.
During the tourist route, the guide and amber expert Igoris will reveal the historical subtleties and secrets of digging, processing and jewellery of the Baltic amber. In addition, Igoris will share his experience in amber search, and you will have the unique opportunity to find natural amber lumps together with the guide.
