ŁEBA SURFING HOTSPOT

Łeba’s Beach Hotspot is one of the windiest areas on the Polish coast. Here, you can find shallow waters only very close to the beach and the sea and air temperature is much lower than in any other surfing hotspots in Poland. Just to give you an example: in the summertime on the Polish mainland temperatures can reach 28*C, 24*C in Tricity but at Łeba Beach it will be 2-4*C colder. Łeba’s hotspot therefore is for the surfers who don’t mind cooler temperatures and enjoy stronger winds. On the western beach there is a very strong current and the waves can reach 50-100 centimeters in height. There is an alternative hotspot nearby however, called Sarbsko Lake, located on the other side of the spit. As it is not on open sea, it has much calmer, warmer and shallower waters that create outstanding conditions for beginners and kitesurfing practice.

ATTRACTIONS

Słowiński National Park has such a wealth of attractions that few tourists would ever feel the need to leave for a change of scenery. South of Łeba in Smołdzino and the surrounding villages there are regional attractions associated with the local ethnic group, Słowińcy. You can tour the remains of their historical buildings and see their typical farming and fishery artefacts at the Kluki ethnographic museum. Within the Park, in a place called Rąbka, there is a military museum dedicated to the launching of World War II-era V1 and V2 missiles. The nearby town of Lębork is famous for its historical churches and old town.
