The main entrance to the park is in Rąbka, which is a part of Łeba town. Łeba can be easily accessed by public transport (both by rail and buses) and by road. Regional and long-distance trains go from Gdansk via Lębork and terminate at Łeba rail station. The Tricity area is easily reached by ferry from Sweden (Karlskrona-Gdynia and Nyneshamn – Gdańsk). There is an international airport in Gdansk, which has many connections. Łeba’s geographical location is 54°45′N 17°33′E.

SIGHTSEEING ŁEBA DUNES IN SŁOWIŃSKI NATIONAL PARK

One of the biggest attractions in the Park is a long walk leading to the dunes and then walking directly on the sand in surroundings that resemble a desert – there is no wooden pavement here. Climbing the 42 metre-tall dune called ‘Łącka Góra’ is a must when you are visiting the Park. This is not the only attraction Leba Dunes Park has to offer though – there are also 6 hiking trails, a biking route through the Park, and two kayak routes available here. Both professional and amateur anglers will find good spots to pursue their hobby – fishing in the Park is allowed in four catching areas (both from the coast and from the boat). Sailing, however, is only permitted in narrow, designated areas of the lakes. Within the Park there are six sightseeing towers and six sightseeing piers on the lakes. There are two museums in the park: one focused on natural history and the other one describing the ethnography of the region. The park employees provide field educational services for individuals and groups, for reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the Park’s website is in Polish only.

ATTRACTIONS

Słowiński National Park has such a wealth of attractions that few tourists would ever feel the need to leave for a change of scenery. South of Łeba in Smołdzino and the surrounding villages there are regional attractions associated with the local ethnic group, Słowińcy. You can tour the remains of their historical buildings and see their typical farming and fishery artefacts at the Kluki ethnographic museum. Within the Park, in a place called Rąbka, there is a military museum dedicated to the launching of World War II-era V1 and V2 missiles. The nearby town of Lębork is famous for its historical churches and old town.
