LOCATION

Rødvig town is located on the eastern coast of Zealand Island in Denmark and is a start point for sightseeing the Stevns Klint. The Zealand Island is available from Germany by two ferry connections Gedser- Warnemünde and Rødby – Puttgarten. The town is also connected to the main railway system of Denmark. Road connections allow to reach Rødvig from Copenhagen and Malmo and Jutland Peninsula. Availability from Poland and Lithuania is through ferries which end route in Sweden and then by road or by rail to Rødvig. The surfing spot is located east- and north to the town.  The geographical location is 55°15′N 12°23′E (marina).

Rødvig coastal area is considered as one of the most windy places on the Danish Baltic Sea. Being the alive tourist and fishery port it is an excellent point to start wandering alongside the cliffs. The Cliff is up to 40 m. tall and is built of eroded white chalk which created color of cliffs. In 2014 The Stevns Klint was announced to be the UNESCO heritage site. For long period its chalk was exploited in the economic way. The cliff hosts the cold –war museum because the bryozoa chalk the cliff is build of is very resistant to shocks of both nuclear and conventional weapons.  One of the interesting points is Højerup Church which was build around 1200. Its part collapsed to the sea in 1928. The cliff can be visited both from the top and from the sea.

ATTRACTIONS

Rødvig  town is located in the Southern Zealand. This region offers numerous attractions including: wineries and vineyards, historical churches, Møns Klints (white cliffs), museums, animal safari, zoo, thematic park, historical sites including WWI fortress. The agricultural landscape dominates on the island, there are a couple of historical towns, picturesque harbors, walking and biking trails. The island has got many white sand beaches and the coastal waters which are shallow and safe. In the area there are many food and accommodation places.
