LOCATION

Nicolaus Copernicus Museum is located in Frombork. It is a town on the Vistula Lagoon. It is communicated with main Polish cities by roads. It is located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland,54°21′N 19°41′E.

ATTRACTION DESCRIPTION

Nicolaus Copernicus Museum is situated in a town where Nicolaus Copernicus lived. This is a place where this outstanding astronomer wrote his epochal book on the heliocentric theory De Revolutionibus orbium coelestium (in Latin). Museum exhibitions can be found in the former Bishops’ Palace. The Copernicus’ Tower which was a property of Copernicus, built in 1400, but many times rebuilt and reconstructed is also something worth seeing. The Foucault’s pendulum can also be found in this museum and is a real attraction. This is a device used to show the rotary motion of the Earth.
