LOCATION

Łeba Town is located 110 km north-west from Gdansk in Pomerania, Poland. Łeba windsurfing spot is located west to Łeba river mouth on the beach. Łeba can be accessed by public transport (rail and buses) and by roads. Regional and distance trains go through Tricity to Lębork and end in the Łeba rail station. The Gdansk area is accessible by two ferry connections to Sweden: Karlskrona-Gdynia and Nyneshamn – Gdańsk. Gdańsk has got an international airport. Łeba town geographical location is 54°45′N 17°33′E.

 

ŁEBA SURFING HOTSPOT

Łeba Beach Hotspot is one of the most windy area on the Polish coast, shallow waters are only close to the beach, sea temperature is much lower than in any other place in Poland and air temperature is also lower. For example in summertime inland Poland can be 28 oC, in Tricity 24 oC and in Łeba Beach is can be 20-22 oC. The Łeba hotspot is for surfers who like cooler temperatures but stronger winds. On the western beach there is a strong current waves can be serious 50-100m from the coast. There is however an alternative: the Sarbsko Lake nearby is completely opposite to the open sea: calmer, warmer and has got only shallow waters. This create outstanding conditions for beginners and kitesurfing education.

ATTRACTIONS

Łeba Region is considered as rich with attractions and a tourist is not forced to leave the place to have the change. Huge dunes located in Słowniński National Park are definitely attraction No 1. Sea Park at Sarbsko lake is a relaxing place. South to the Łeba in Smołdzino and villages around are the regional attractions associated to local ethnic group Słowińcy, which remained historical buildings of their typical farming and fishery occupations (Smołdzino ethnographic museum). In the NP, in place called Rabka there is a military museum of the launching center of V1 and V2 missiles from WW2.
