LOCATION

Klaipeda is the third largest city in Lithuania, in the Curonian Lagoon and in the Baltic Sea.  The main transport links with Klaipeda are railway station, bus station, and seaport.

SCENIC CHARACTER

Klaipėda, often called as the country’s sea gates, is the third biggest and oldest city in Lithuania, founded in year 1252 and had the name „Memelburg“ at first. The city is amazing of unique architecture of fachverk contruction buildings, romantic ambience of the old town, which is decorated by many sculptures around. The city enchants and inspires everyone for the scenic views of the Sea coast and harbor area. Klaipėda is very attractive, welcoming and live place in summer when International Castle Jazz Festival, Sea Festival and other events take place at popular gathering place Theater Square, the heart of Klaipėda city.

ATTRACTIONS

Walk in the old town, where many cozy cafes, restaurants, local shops can be founded, as well as get inspired by many interesting and creative sculptures which meet you in every corner. Visit the unique Marine Museum, located on the northernmost point of the Curonian Spit – Kopgaliai.

Trip to the sea. Stop at Coastal Regional Park and visit the Dutchman’s Cap (24.4 m high cliff) formed by moving glaciers 12-15 thousand years ago. This is also most visited object in region due to its unique view of nature: steep cliffs and rocky beaches which is perfect place for birdwatching. Also have a walk in the park which was constructed in XIX century with many decorative trees.
