LOCATION

Palaga is the best known sea resort in Lithuania. It’s situated at the west side of the country, in the Klaipeda county, just near the Latvia-Lithuania border 55°55′N 21°4′E. Palanga is well communicated. It has its airport, which is located 7km from the town. It’s the third biggest airport in Lithuania. The nearest train station is in Kretinga, 12 km from Palanga.

SCENIC CHARACTER

Palaga is a great place for having relax. There is a beautiful sandy beach, and a 470m long pier which is well known as a place of  romantic meetings. You will never get bored in Palanga. During the day you can get engaged into water sports (windsurfing, kitesurfing and many others), and after sun fall Palanga turns into one big party, with a dozen of different clubs.

ATTRACTIONS

The area is well prepared for tourism. It is good place for sunbathing and water sports. The town is also known of its amber. In ancient times Palaga was a part of the Amber Road. Nowadays there is an amber museum, and a lot of places to buy amber jewellery. It is also a good place for sightseeing. There is a majestic XIXth century neoclassical Tiškevičiai Palace. Some places are connected with pre-christian history of Lithuania such as Birute Hill. There are also some modern attractions like musical fountain or sculptured camera.
