LOCATION

The Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre is situated in Gdańsk. Gdańsk is a city located at the mouth of the Motława River, on the southern edge of the Bay of Gdańsk. It is communicated with main Polish cities by roads and railways. Available also from the sea. There is an airport. The city is the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland, 54°22′N 18°38′E.

ATTRACTION DESCRIPTION

The Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre is a young theatre opened in 2014. The theatre conducts not only artistic, but also educational activities, especially for children and adolescents. The theatre organises Shakespeare lessons, series of lectures, meetings, theatre and art workshops. The building of the theatre is an amazing attraction. The roof of the theatre opens in a few minutes and allows you to watch performances under the open sky. This is the only theatre in Poland that exhibits art on the Elizabethan stage. Besides, this is the only theatre in the world with an opening roof. The Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre can be visited and it is really worth it, because this is a real work of architecture.
