LOCATION

The Polish Baltic Frederic Chopin Philharmonic is located in Ołowianka which is an island enclosed by the Motława River in Gdańsk (Poland). Gdańsk is the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship and is communicated with main Polish cities by roads and railways. Available also from the sea. There is also an airport. 54°22′N 18°38′E.

ATTRACTION DESCRIPTION

The Polish Baltic Frederic Chopin Philharmonic was founded in the 1940s and is the largest music institution in the northern Poland. The building of the philharmonic is very interesting. It was a power station in the 19thcentury and was adapted as a concert hall after over a hundred years. The Polish Baltic Philharmonic has the Concert Hall (for 1100 people), the Chamber Music Hall (for 180 people), the Jazz Hall (for 200 people) and the Oak Hall (for 100 people). Symphonic concerts, recitals, chamber music soirees performed not only by Polish but also by worldwide-known musicians take place in the Polish Baltic Philharmonic.
