ATTRACTIONS

  • The Philharmonic, designed by the Spanish-Italian architectural duo Estudio Barozzi Veiga, was opened on 5thSeptember 2014. This is the first such coherent project of this type in Poland. Philharmonic M. Karłowicz in Szczecin is a modern institution drawing on the musical traditions of its city and all of Poland . From the outside, the building, seemingly unsuitable for architecture, turns out to blend into the surrounding buildings. It brings to mind the ice palace or the tip of the iceberg. And although it evokes many controversies, it certainly fulfills its task – draws attention to Szczecin.
  • The Museum of Dialogue “Changes” in Szczecin is a top among museum buildings not only in Poland. The original concept of combining architecture with a city square means that you want to look into this building. It was opened for visitors on 26thJanuary 2016. The museum present the latest history of Szczecin and Western Pomerania with particular emphasis on social rebellion and groundbreaking events in 1970-1971, 1980-1981, 1988-1989, leading to the recovery of Poland’s sovereignty in 1989.

The royal gate was built in 1725-1728 according to the design of the Dutch architect Gerhard van Wallrawe. The Baroque building on both sides is crowned with an attic, and its entrances are exits with artistic bars from the end of the 19th century.
