ATTRACTION DESCRIPTION

The museum in Wdzydze Kiszewskie (Muzeum – Kaszubski Park Etnograficzny) is the first open-air museum in Poland. The museum’s origins date back to the beginning of the 20thcentury. At that time Teodora and Izydor Gulgowski (founders of the museum) bought the 18thcentury cottage that housed the collection of farm objects, glass paintings and pottery. The museum in Wdzydze is currently located on 22 hectares. This open-air museum is divided into sectors that are areas of the region called Kashubia. The permanent exhibition includes 52 old wooden buildings – an architecture of Kashubia and Kociewie from the 17thto the 20thcentury.
