Kronborg Castle is located in Helsingør 40 km from Copenhagen. Helsingør (sometimes called in english Elsinore) is the main city of Helsingør municipality in Zealand region. The easiest way to get there is by car. It takes about 40 minutes from Copenhagen. It is also possible to travel by sea. If you come from Sweden. Every old castle has its story, but only one become a stage of worlds most famous tragedy. Kronborg Castle is a place where the events of Hamlet took place, although it was called Elsynor by Shakespeare. Nowadays Kronborg Castle is a tourist attraction, and an important relic of Danish history which was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
