LOCATION

Arkona is a cape in north Germany. It is situated on the north of Rugen island 54°40′35″N 13°26′16″E. To get there, you should first travel to Sassnitz, and then go by bas. It is also possible to rent a bike.

SCENIC CHARACTER

Some people say that they feel kind of great power in Cape Arkona. It’s probably because in ancient times there was a place of worship ancient Slavic god Swietowid. Nowadays there are still remains of old religion and magical atmosphere, which supports admiration of natural wonders.

ATTRACTIONS

History is fascinating, but still the most important reason to visit Cape Arkona is the cliff. It is 47 meters high and surrounds the cape from the seaside. There are two lighthouses. The smaller one, called Schinkelturm,was turn into register office and sometimes there are wedding organized in it. Outside of the building you can find a lot of marble tablets with names and dates of weddings.
