ATTRACTIONS

Kwidzyn Castleis a cathedral-castle complex built between 1320 and 1340. It was designed on a square plan with four wings and towers in the cornersmodeled on the Teutonic castles. Later, it was connected to the cathedral and one of the towers was transformed into a belfry. The Kwidzyn Castle was the seat of the Pomeranian Chapter, and in virtue of the peace of Torun it became a fortress of the Teutonic Knights. The most valuable element of the castle is considered to be the sanitary tower Gdanisko from 1393 due to its uniqueness. Interestingly, the connection between Gdanisko and the main castle is the longest arcade porch in the world. The centerpiece of the castle is the courtyard with a two-story pillared cloister. Due to the great acoustics of this place various cultural events take there during the summer. Currently, the castle is a residence of the Castle Museum.
