ATRACTION DESCRIPTION
The castle was built in XIII th century as a lowland castle surrounded by a wall with shooting towers. It was a part of fortifications on the border with Mecklenburg. There were two towers and three metre defensive wall originally. Klempenow became Swedish in 1631 in the conflicts of the Thirty Years War. After World War II, a castle was a house for fourteen families of refugees expelled from former German lands.
