ATTRACTIONS

Besides the main attraction, the broad fine and sandy beach free of stones, there is a variety of sightseeing and activities in Binz: Most well-known is the so-called “resort architecture” which is characteristic on spas at the German Baltic coast. Furthermore there is an art mile, the hunting lodge Granitz and the Galileo World of Knowledge, which is particularly exciting for children. Another historical sight is Prora. The monumental building is 2.5 km long and shows the history of national socialism and the following GDR period. The Prora Documentation Centre, the “KulturKunststatt” and the Railway & Technology Museum are located there. There is also a treetop path with a magnificent view over the entire region.

Binz hosts a large number of cultural and sporting events every year, such as the “Störtebeker” Festival (very close to Binz), summer concerts, the IronMan of Rugia, the Baltic Sea swimming and the national beach volleyball championships.
