SCENIC CHARACTER

You may admire white walls of the cliff in combination with blue Baltic Sea waters. The white chalk cliff that rises to a height of up to40 metres not only attracts geologists, but also masses of tourists. The place shows the impact of the Chicxulub meteorite which crashed into the Earth over 60 million years ago causing the disappearance of over 50 per cent of all life. Nowadays the area is full of rare species of birds. The place offers a picturesque view of the Sound and the Øresund Bridge linking Denmark to Sweden.

Huge waves still erode the cliff and change its shape – that is why the area lives.

ATTRACTIONS

Some restaurants, cafes and a tourist information centre. Not only hotels, guesthouses, but also a camping space. The historical Stevns Lighthouse situated at the edge of the cliff.  Stevnsfort Cold War Museum located in the area which was a secret part of the NATO’s defence system. Many migrating birds every spring and autumn. The Højerup Church from the year 1200 which collapsed partially because of forces of nature, located at the top of the cliff.
