Långasjönäs is characterized by stunning scenery, beautiful sandy beaches, unique plants, ancient ruins and an unsurpassed tranquility. The ground of the reserve is covered with white chickweed flowers in spring and yellow and blue cow-wheat in summer. The lakes are good fishing waters of trout with their reserve of pike and river perch. There are also few ruins remaining of the 18th and 19th centuries’ buildings of paper factory, liquor factory, mill and sawmill.
ATTRACTIONS
There are several well developed marked hiking trails of different lengths (from one to eight kilometers). It is possible to see a grosbeak or a flycatcher in the area with deciduous trees.
The water in lake Långasjön is the municipality’s drinking water. For this reason gasoline outboard motorboats are forbidden on Lake Långasjön. Natural conditions of the lake allow for recreational fishing and serious angling for trout and white fish. The visitors can rent rowboats, kayaks and canoes at the campsite of Långasjönäs.
