ATTRACTIONS

Lake Drużno is one of the most exceptional lakes in Poland. Sometimes called the „pearl of the Żuławy”, it is a rare type of delta lake, shallow, strongly overgrown, and at the same time very rich in nature, thanks to which it has been included in the Ramsar convention and in the Natura 2000 program. According to many anglers Lake Drużno is the most abundant lake in Poland used by the Polish Angling Association.  The lake is a nature reserve from 1966. The reserve is a place of life for many species of animals and plants that are threatened with extinction. Gray herons, cormorants, gulls, grebes and cranes have their nests here. In total, about 210 species of water and marsh birds were observed here. In 1982, on the eastern shore of the lake, during the research, the legendary Truso artisanal and commercial settlement was discovered. The results of previous research indicate that it was one of the most important commercial points on the Baltic Sea, and at the same time it was the main center of long-distance trade in the Prussian lands.
