LOCATION

Roskilde is the main city in Roskilde municipality, which is located on the Danish island of Zealand. It is well communicated. You can get there by car from any part of Europe. Of course, it is also possible to travel to Zealand by sea. The Denmark is well known of its bike paths. There is a four-platform railway station in Roskilde. The main airport is Copenhagen Airport. ATRACTION DESCRIPTION

The cathedral is without doubt the greatest historical treasure of architecture in the Roskilde city. It is one of the oldest gothic churches. The temple is over thousand years old. Inside the cathedral there are thumbs of kings and queens. One of them is actually placed outside the building because Frederick IX wished to watch the fjord from afterlife. There are also six magnificent bells, which sound spread across the surroundings. Another interesting piece of art is a mechanical clock, which presents St. George struggle with the dragon.
